This project involved the refurbishment and upgrading of an existing building at Imperial college.
Our commission included the design and structural testing of the glass louvre solar shading system and the design of the supporting steel structure.
The glass louvre system and its supporting structure had to be robust.
Impact tests were devised and carried out to ensure the glass remained attached to the building in the event of an accident.
The main criterion was that the system stay intact, with no falling glass and that students and public in the street below were safe at all times.
We ensured this on behalf of the client by the design, engineering and testing that was carried out.
