Job Title: Senior Facade Consultant
Reporting to: Business Area Leader
Responsible for: Facade Survey and Investigation Projects
Working Pattern: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours
Location: London or Ewell, Surrey office
Description of the role
The primary role is to carry out Facade Surveys and Investigations within Patrick Ryan Associates (PRA), prepare excellent reports for clients, manage client building portfolios and help with the forward movement of this business area.
We expect that the successful candidate will have a bachelors degree and professional qualification with a façade related professional body. A higher degree and chartered status would both be highly beneficial and will consider candidates qualified by experience.
A minimum of 10 years’ experience in façade engineering is required for this post.
The role requires a very good and detailed technical knowledge in all aspects of facade engineering design and construction including, facade systems, bespoke facades, cladding components, cladding products, all materials used in facades, manufacturing techniques and construction methods.
Our reports are read at the highest level in client organisations and accordingly we expect nothing less than excellent report writing skills, with excellent use of English, good clear presentation of the facts and opinions, and the ability to communicate verbally in an easy and confident manner.
Experience working in survey and investigation is essential, together with experience working with contractors on the refurbishment and renewal of building façades.
As part of the job, the candidate will need to quickly understand the way in which the company conducts its business and become a functioning part of the company, blending in seamlessly with all existing company operations.
The successful candidate will enjoy assistance from and work alongside our marketing people and our Operations Manager.
Targets with regards to throughput of work will be agreed annually with the responsible person for this business.
Teamwork is an important principle and practice within PRA and the successful candidate must be able to work well with the rest of the PRA team.
