Façade Designer, Draughtsman Job Ad

We have an exciting opportunity for a Façade Designer/Draughtsperson to join our Façade Consultancy team, reporting directly to our Director, Senior Associate, and other members of the senior team.

Reporting to: Director, Associate, Associate Façade Consultant (Design), Structural Engineer
Responsible for: Producing, editing & reviewing façade drawings & design
Working Pattern: Permanent
Hours: 40 hours
Location: London or Ewell, Surrey office

Description of the role:

  • The primary role is to produce, edit and review detailed drawings to the technical requirements of the design from architectural sketches, prepare excellent reports for our clients, maintain internal document control systems and assist & undertake site surveys on new build, renovation & recladding projects, as well as assisting the Survey & investigation team.
  • We prefer that the successful candidate has a bachelor’s degree in architectural technology, but other qualifications such as HNC or HND in or degree in an Engineering subject will be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in façade industry or related field which a substantial part of which is design.
  • The role requires familiarity with façade system designs, fabrication & assemble techniques.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/ 3D is essential.
  • Our reports are read at the highest level in client organisations and accordingly we expect excellent report writing skills, with excellent use of English, good clear presentation of the facts and opinions, and the ability to communicate verbally in an easy and confident manner.
  • As part of the job, the candidate must be able to work well under pressure, can handle a varied workload and work independently.
  • This role requires excellent organisational skills, time management and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • A successful candidate will have a meticulous eye for detail and a passion for precision.
  • Teamwork is an important principle and practice within PRA and the successful candidate must be able to work well with the rest of the PRA team at all levels.
