The Role of Compliance Inspector
The role of a Compliance Inspector as part of the Government’s Building Safety Act, is to undertake design and delivery inspections of a construction project at key milestone points.
Compliance Inspectors are responsible for confirming that works are compliant with the guidance and for certifying that any completed work has been completed in accordance with good industry practice.
This role, independent of both a projects’ design and construction team and employed by the client, ensures that Part B of the Building Regulations are being adhered to.
The Compliance Inspector will also look at all the design drawings and visit the project site a total of five times during the project spend stages of 20% 40% 60% 80% and 100% after which a compliance report will be prepared.
Our Service
Here at Patrick Ryan Associates, we offer a Compliance Inspector service for HRB façade remediation projects where Patrick Ryan Associates are not the façade consultant. This service is led by our Project Director, John Neale and assisted by our other two Directors Patrick Ryan and Anri Doda who are both qualified to satisfy the stringent criteria set up by the MHCLG.
John is a qualified RIBA registered Architect, proficient in fire safety matters and has worked on numerous façade remediation schemes for a number of years.
John was employed by the Government as a Compliance Inspector in October 2023, has completed a number of projects and is currently working on several others nationwide.
