Façade Consultancy – Balustrade Extension Design

We are pleased to have been chosen to design a new balustrade extension for the Novotel, Canary Wharf roof terrace in conjunction with Building Transformation who carried out the procurement and installation.

The Novotel, owned by AccorInvest, is a modern and stylish 39-storey hotel, located in the capital's world-famous financial district and home to an award-winning restaurant, bar and roof terrace with spectacular 360 views of the growing London skyline.

Our Senior Façade Consultant, Luke Prior, has taken inspiration from the Accor “bernache goose” symbol in designing a system for the roof terrace which not only provides safe and secure occupant protection but also reflects the parent brand signature to “feel welcome”

This project involved pre works and familiarisation, project design and concept work as well as structural engineering input within the wider PRA team. Following our final checks, the system is now fully installed, and we are proud to see our involvement in improving a key safety feature of this landmark hotel, come to fruition.
