This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer with over 10 years of façade experience who is ready to play a key role in the future growth of our structural engineering team.

What You Bring

As an Associate Structural Façade Engineer, you will take ownership of complex façade structural engineering projects from concept through to completion, whilst helping to develop and mentor junior engineers within the team.

You will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication and leadership skills, becoming a trusted advisor to clients and a key contributor to the continued growth of the business.

What You Will Do? – Engineer Exceptional Structures

Technical Responsibilities

Lead façade structural engineering projects from inception through to delivery.
Carry out structural analysis and produce high-quality structural calculations for façade and cladding systems.
Review and approve structural calculations prepared by internal and external parties.
Develop standard calculation methodologies and engineering tools, including TEDDS calculations and automated spreadsheets.
Review façade engineering drawings, technical submissions and specifications.
Undertake site inspections and provide practical engineering solutions to technical challenges.
Ensure structural designs are fully integrated with wider façade performance requirements.
Maintain a thorough understanding of façade materials, products, manufacturing processes and construction methods.
Provide technical leadership and guidance across multiple projects.

Leadership & Business Responsibilities

Support the growth and development of the structural engineering team.
Mentor and develop junior engineers.
Help establish best practice, technical standards and quality procedures.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, architects and project teams.
Identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals and fee submissions.
Represent Patrick Ryan Associates confidently at meetings, presentations and industry events.

About You

You will be a highly motivated and ambitious engineer who enjoys working collaboratively and is excited by the prospect of helping grow our small specialist structural engineering team.

Professional Capability: Experience & Qualifications

Have a degree in Structural Engineering.
Minimum 10 years’ experience within façade structural engineering.
Strong technical expertise in façade and cladding systems.
Thorough understanding of façade materials, products, manufacturing and construction methods.
Membership of the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) or working towards chartership.
Proven experience delivering projects independently and managing competing priorities.
Knowledge of UK building regulations and structural design standards.
