The National Gallery – Façade Structural Engineering

We are thrilled to have been involved in the project to remodel the new Sainsbury Wing main entrance to The National Gallery which reopened in May 2025 as part of the Gallery’s 200th birthday celebrations.
Working alongside our client Structura, our structural engineering team carried out design checks of the curtain walling unit of the entrance, including frame analysis, optimising the main profiles and all the relevant connections such as the brackets and fixings.

The Sainsbury Wing now features a more welcoming, larger, and more accessible entrance for millions of visitors to the gallery every year and we are extremely proud to have played a part in this project.
