Tolworth Hospital – Façade Design & Consultancy – New Build Project

Patrick Ryan Associates are the façade consultants for RIBA stages 3, 4 & 5 for the Tolworth Hospital redevelopment project.
We have been assisting our clients, Sir Robert McAlpine, and the architects Ryder Architecture in developing the façade design and advising on the proposed façade systems with particular focus on the modular construction. PRA provided the technical design detail, outline specification as well as thermal calculations during RIBA stages 3 and 4 and have been on hand to provide advice around the application of the façade design including design and glass risk assessments.
Now at stage 5, we are moving into reviewing commenting and providing the status of the façade contractors’ drawings, structural, thermal and acoustic calculations, samples and technical submissions.

This two-storey mental health facility will provide inpatient accommodation on 5 separate wards with a total capacity of 90 beds. The building also provides training facilities for staff and a public restaurant and café to improve accessibility for the local community. The new development will enhance the existing facilities at Tolworth Hospital, with an integrated landscape and building design and is due to open in 2027.
